BURMA: A fascinating article, “Tell a Joke, and You Disappear,” courtesy of the Worst Horse. And speaking of Burma (where jokers disappear in the dark of night) one of the world’s most wanted men, Khun Sa, (a notorious warlord / drug dealer dubbed the “Prince of Death” by Washington, which was frantically hunting him in the U.S. government’s eternal quest to eliminate drugs everywhere and costs and consequences be damned) has cashed his ticket in Burma. France wants an international fund created that can dangle incentives to tame ne’er-do-wells like the Burmese junta. And an opinion piece: “Burma or Myanmar?” The U.N. says Myanmar. The U.K. and U.S. (everyone uses “united”) prefers Burma.

TIBET: Great headline: Beijing Blasts ‘Conniving’ Canada. Brings a smile to your face, doesn’t it? Steven Harper made nice with the Dalai Lama and China’s having a tantrum. But the National Post of Canada mocks the free Tibet movement and says official support for the mountain kingdom is weak, if not nonexistent. But that didn’t stop the Toronto Star from stepping up to the plate for the DL in an opinion piece. Canada rocks. And their currency can beat up our currency.
