Our Buddhism for Beginners website is a comprehensive introductory resource full of information that is authentic, trustworthy, and easy-to-understand.

Presented as a Q&A series, Buddhism for Beginners offers introductory teachings, practices, and history in topical decks of cards that expand when clicked. The site was launched with one layer of decks, but we’ll be adding more decks and layers over time. Visitors can submit their unanswered questions, so the site will grow according to what you’d like to learn more about.

Visitors can follow a suggested order while navigating the cards, or can choose their own. For users who want to learn more, there are several links to articles and additional resources under each card.

Some card topics include:

  • Is Buddhism a religion, philosophy, or way of life?
  • Can I practice meditation on my own, or do I need a teacher?
  • Do I have to believe in rebirth to practice Buddhism?
  • Does Buddhism believe in gender equality and support women’s rights?

For those who want to learn Buddhist basics with a leading expert, we have also launched a Buddhism for Beginners online course starting on January 14, 2019.
