Look forward to our forthcoming Buddhism for Beginners website, a comprehensive introductory resource full of information that is authentic, trustworthy, and easy-to-understand.

Presented as a Q&A series, Buddhism for Beginners will offer introductory teachings, practices, and history in topical decks of cards that expand when clicked. The site will launch with two layers of decks, but we’ll be adding more decks and layers over time. Visitors will be able to submit their unanswered questions, so the site will grow according to what you’d like to learn more about.

Visitors can follow a suggested order while navigating the cards, or can choose their own. For users who want to learn more, there will be several links to articles and additional resources under each card.

Some card topics include:

  • Is Buddhism a religion, philosophy, or way of life?
  • Can I practice meditation on my own, or do I need a teacher?
  • Do I have to believe in rebirth to practice Buddhism?
  • Does Buddhism believe in gender equality and support women’s rights?

We are currently working with a team of web developers, graphic designers, writers, editors, and an illustrator on the Buddhism for Beginners microsite, which will launch in December. We will also launch a Buddhism for Beginners online course starting on January 14, 2019.
