The idea that we are born again after death is a cornerstone of traditional Buddhist philosophy.

It’s also one of the most hotly debated subjects among contemporary dharma practitioners.

Do you have to believe in rebirth to be a Buddhist? What did the Buddha actually teach about life after death? And what can we learn from recent scientific attempts to document evidence of reincarnation?

Join us to explore these and other vital questions in a special book launch event with Roger Jackson, PhD, the celebrated Buddhist scholar, dharma teacher and author of books including the forthcoming Rebirth: A Guide to Mind, Karma and Cosmos in the Buddhist World (releasing March 22 from Shambhala Publications).

In conversation with Tricycle Editor-in-Chief James Shaheen, Jackson will discuss the historical context for the Buddha’s teachings on rebirth, modern secular interpretations of the doctrine of rebirth, the range of Buddhist views about what happens after death, and more. Bring your questions!

This hour-long Zoom event is free for Tricycle Premium subscribers and $10 for general admission. Subscribe to Premium or upgrade your existing subscription for free access.
