“Percolation” first appeared in Yellow Silk and “The Shadow” first appeared in ZYZZYVA. Both will be included in The October Palace by Jane Hirshfield, forthcoming from Harper Collins early next year.

Jane Hirshfield , a Tricycle contributing editor, is a poet, essayist, editor, and translator. She practiced at San Francisco Zen Center, Tassajara, and Green Gulch Farm between 1974 and 1982 and received lay ordination in 1979.
