Tricycle’s Meditation Group for Tricycle subscribers provides weekly meditations and small group discussions led by renowned Buddhist teachers.
Continuing the series is John Dunne, who will join us weekly in January as part of Tricycle’s Meditation Month challenge.
During our meditation group this month, we’ll explore mindfulness, the foundation of all Buddhist meditative practices, as we ask the questions, “What is meditation and what is it good for?” While appreciating how secularized mindfulness has entered the cultural mainstream as an effective way to deal with stress and other issues, we will see that, for Buddhist practice, mindfulness meditation is deeply connected to the cultivation of wisdom and compassion for the achievement of our spiritual goals. We will also experiment with bringing mindful awareness into our daily lives and cultivating greater flourishing for ourselves and others.
Each session will include a 10-15 minute talk and a 15-20 minute meditation practice. After each meditation, we will reconvene for either breakout group discussions or a Q&A with John. The sessions will range from 45 minutes to an hour.
Here is the schedule for January:
Monday, January 6 11am–12pm ET
Monday, January 13 11am–12pm ET
Monday, January 20 11am–12pm ET
