Join Tricycle, RetreaTours, and Buddhist expert Dr. Brooke Schedneck in Chiang Mai and Bangkok as we explore how Theravada Buddhism is lived and practiced in Thailand.
On this journey to Thailand from June 30-July 12, 2026, with an option Laos extension from July 12–16, we’ll combine Buddhist practice and exploration. We’ll engage deeply with Theravada Buddhism while surrounded by the bustling stretch of the “River of Kings” in Bangkok and the historic Old City of Chiang Mai, often called the Rose of the North.
The focus of this pilgrimage is less about long hours on the cushion and more about experiencing how Theravada Buddhism is lived in Thailand today. With the expert guidance of Brooke Schedneck, RetreaTours owners BJ Graf and Lauren Rathvon, and an expert local guide, we’ll learn about local traditions of making merit and the rhythms of everyday Buddhist life.
Sustainability is our priority. RetreaTours is officially a partner with Cool Effect. Their “climate positive” commitment means that throughout every step of the pilgrimage, RetreaTours offsets more carbon than is produced, making this trip as sustainable as it will be memorable.
Space is limited to 12 guests! Learn more here.
