What’s a story in your life that you’d like to rewrite? In the following and final video for Tricycle Poetry Month, poet and arts educator Caits Meissner invites you to do just that.
Meissner also reads three poems from her forthcoming book LET IT DIE HUNGRY. Her writing prompt, called “Necessary Destruction and Shape Shifting Desires,” helps you identify difficult stories from your own life and guides you through a series of questions to deconstruct and reframe that narrative.
“The concept that really resonates with me is nonattachment. And that nonattachment absolutely does not mean noncommitment or nonengagement with humanity,” Meissner says of Buddhism’s influence on her writing.
