Tricycle editor James Shaheen interviewed the Venerable Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche in Colorado. Here is a portion of that interview dealing with Rinpoche’s own experiences with the practice of viewing one’s guru as the Buddha. Rinpoche smiles when he begins and says, “It’s been a long process for myself.” He speaks very thoughtfully about his youth and his experiences with monastic training.
