Viet Thanh Nguyen holds the Aerol Arnold Chair of English at the University of Southern California, where he also holds appointments in comparative literature and American studies and ethnicity. His work examines war, memory, and the Vietnamese diaspora; his books include Race and Resistance: Literature and Politics in Asian America and the novel The Sympathizer.
