Country: India, USA
The film opens eighteen years after Dolkar, a 26-year-old exile Tibetan who lives in Delhi, escaped from her homeland with her father after a perilous trek across the Himalayas. Firmly established in her adult life, Dolkar has suppressed her recollection of the journey and its traumas. But when she unexpectedly encounters Gompo, a Tibetan activist who crossed paths with Dolkar long ago, flashbacks of her escape rush forth. Launched into an obsessive quest for answers and purpose, Dolkar is forced to confront the nightmares of her past as Gompo, too, faces a reckoning.
