C. E. Giyū Gillis is a transgender, queer, engaged Buddhist practitioner blending social justice with dedicated spiritual practice. He is a Zen student currently studying with No Barriers Zen Temple in Washington, D.C., which is an inclusive sangha with Deaf, DeafBlind, and the Hard of Hearing members. He also practices with the Village Zendo in New York City.
