Chairin Kim is a recent college graduate and a self-taught cartoonist. This is Kim’s first publication. Kim was taking a Buddhist studies course at Yale University when America reported its first case of COVID-19. For the final assignment, the professor, Hwansoo Kim (no relation), asked students to reflect on how the course had impacted them and their thinking. Chairin Kim submitted this illustration. Professor Kim and his wife, Sumi Loundon Kim, noting how it captured the experience of the moment, shared it with Tricycle, and now it is our privilege to share it with you.
