Jane Naomi Iwamura  is a professor of religious studies at University of the West. Her publications include Virtual Orientalism: Asian Religions and American Popular Culture and the coedited volume Revealing the Sacred in Asian and Pacific America. She has also written on Japanese American lived religion. She was raised in the Jodo Shin Buddhist tradition.
