Tencho Gyatso

Tencho Gyatso is the president of the International Campaign for Tibet. Born in exile in Dharamsala, Gyatso studied at the Tibetan Children’s Village School, St. Bedes College, and St. Joseph’s College in India. She was elected to the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile in 1991 and served for two terms before moving to the United States in 1998. Since then, she has continued her advocacy, joining the ICT in 2008 and becoming president in 2023. Her work, and the mission of the ICT, is garnering international support, working with policymakers, and gathering information on the conditions in Tibet, in order to support the Tibetan people’s struggle for democracy and human rights.
